Has the USSR truly disintegrated? Has communism/socialism truly fallen? This article will shatter the illusion

Russia’s FSB security service, successor to the KGB, has opened its archives on the mass persecution of political 'enemies' during the rule of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin, but only relatives of victims will be allowed to see any information.
Thousands of applications have already been submitted to study the formerly super-secret files, which detail the fate of millions who disappeared into the Gulag prison camp system between the 1920s and the 1950s, FSB chief archivist Vasily Khristoforov told the independent Interfax news agency.
"Requests will be processed and if the materials requested have been declassified, they will be made available to the applicant," Khristoforov said.
More than half a century after Stalin's death, many Russian families remain in the dark about the fate of family members taken away by the secret police during the years that many remember simply as the "Terror".

A must read for those who are under the mistaken impression that terrorism is an exclusive "arab" or "moslem" phenomenon.

At a time when Islamist terrorism seems to have returned to the centre of London, it is easy to forget that during the 20th century terror was used on a vast scale by secular regimes. Today suicide attacks are automatically linked with a belief in martyrdom followed by paradise in the afterlife. Yet suicide bombing of the kind we now confront is a terrorist technique that was developed by people with no such beliefs. Though they claim to reject all things modern and Western, Islamist terrorists are continuing a modern Western tradition of using systematic violence to transform society. The roots of contemporary terrorism are in radical Western ideology – especially Leninism – far more than religion.
Lenin saw himself as belonging in a European revolutionary tradition that began with the French Jacobins, whose use of terror he criticized only because he believed it was insufficiently merciless. For Lenin, as for Robespierre, terror was not just a means of defending the revolution against enemies but also an essential tool of social engineering.
Together with Trotsky, Lenin set up concentration camps, instituted a system of hostages to ensure obedience in suspect groups and executed about 200,000 people between 1917 and 1923. The Bolshevik leaders were clear that state terror was indispensably necessary for achieving a communist society in which the State – along with war, property, and religion – would no longer exist. It was Lenin and Trotsky, not Stalin, who pioneered state terror in Russia, and they did so in order to realize a vision of Utopia.

War on Drugs! How is that working for us in America? Is it reducing crime? Is it reducing rates of death and disease? Is it effective in keeping drugs and drug dealers away from our children? Since 1971 law enforcement has spent one trillion dollars in order to arrest 37 million people and fill hundreds of warehouses with dope. What progress do you see? Unfortunately, drugs prove cheaper, stronger and much easier to find and buy.

With the threat of "Islamic terrorism" taking center stage in the mainstream media, let us remember that it is the native "secular humanists/socialists" as well as the traitors in Washington D.C. who are more effectively destroying creator-endowed rights protected by the Constitution.

Our first move should not be to judge their values, but to ask what they are. After all, the ideologies they implicitly condemn involve secular values. (It's interesting to note that while they mention both Naziism and fascism, they would cite only Stalinism, not communism. Is it because they believe it has not been overcome? Or is there another reason?) As for Stalinism, the decidedly more Christian United States condemned it as godless. Yet, I don't know of anyone at the time who proclaimed the goal to be one of religious values for all.

Do you think the politicians who scream and chant the loudest about how they're for "more money for education" send their children to the "public fools" system? Think again. Al Gore's children went to private school. Bill and Hillary Clinton's daughter attended private school. Rep. Jane Harman kept her children in private school in Beverly Hills. Way back in 1998, Al Checci, Democratic candidate for governor of California, not only sent his children to private school, but when asked why they don't attend public school, Checci replied: "Why should I do that? I'm not going to sacrifice my children's future." Don't you just love these hypocrites?

The FBI is gathering and sorting information about Americans to help search for potential terrorists, insurance cheats and crooked pharmacists, according to a government report obtained Tuesday.
Records about identity thefts, real estate transactions, motor vehicle accidents and complaints about Internet drug companies are being searched for common threads to aid law enforcement officials, the Justice Department said in a report to Congress on the agency's data-mining practices.
In addition, the report disclosed government plans to build a new database to assess the risk posed by people identified as potential or suspected terrorists.
